Overview: CSD in Leipzig This Saturday
In Leipzig this Saturday the Christopher Street Day (CSD) takes place. CSD is both a large demonstration and a colorful festival for queer people and their allies. The event mixes politics and celebration to demand equality and to celebrate diversity.
The motto this year is: “No rest, no going back – Queer rights step by step!” This means people say they will not give up and want their rights, step by step.

The full CSD week runs from 10 July to 18 July. The main day, the demonstration day, is Saturday, 18 July 2026. The central meeting and first program start at Augustusplatz in the city center.

On the demo day the central rally begins at 11:30 with speeches on the stage in front of the opera. The march starts at 13:00. After the march the event returns to Augustusplatz for a street festival in the afternoon and evening.

The demonstration starts at Augustusplatz and walks through the city center. People will carry rainbow flags, banners, and signs. The march is visible and moves through many central streets of Leipzig.

Program, Speakers and Performances
The rally on the stage includes speeches and a program with hosts and guests. The rally will be moderated by Oliver Viehweg and Luna Neptune. There are also recorded greeting messages expected from public figures.
